Three weeks ago, I was lucky to receive the PenMoto prototype, a nifty device using magnets, a ring and a coupler for keeping your pen stylus attached to your hand while typing or doing other things. I have fallen victim to having my pen roll under my keyboard, under my chair or desk, and two days before I got the prototype in the mail, I lost my Wacom pen entirely. In all my years in the industry, that has NEVER happened.
These past few weeks have been great as I have been in contact with the PenMoto creator Kelvin Geis and have been putting the PenMoto through the paces of everyday production. Unfortunately, I sized my ring a bit larger than my finger and had to build it up with tape to keep it snug, but other than that this device has impressed me! The bottom line is that if you work in a field that involves a Wacom pen and there is a lot of keyboard typing and mouse action in-between your drawing/designing, then the PenMoto is for you.
PenMoto is the first project that I have ever backed on Kickstarter, and I am happy to say that it fully funded and is moving into full production. Some people that I have shown this to felt it was a novelty, but I can attest that it is a serious assist to anyone like me who drops (or loses) their Wacom pen around their work area. I would like to thank Kelvin and his team for developing a really great product, and I cannot wait for my self-sizing ring to arrive.
